Friday 28th and Saturday 29th September, the North West UNISON annual Policy Seminar took place in Blackpool.
Branch Secretary Steve North attended the event, which featured some fantastic debates and discussions on topics such as:
- How we can ensure the on-going relevance of trade unions
- The fantastic role played by women activists in disputes like Grunwick and Gate Gourmet
- Why we must learn from the victories (and defats) of the past
- How we as branches can work together to defeat privatisation
The resources we received on the day are below, and we would encourage all members to visit the website of “We Own It” to find out more about the fantastic work they are doing to defend public services and to bring privatised services – like water, rail and utilities – back into public ownership.
Also check out the fantastic Striking Women website.
