On 17th October, Salford residents from high rise blocks in Pendleton travelled to Parliament to demand action on removing dangerous cladding from their homes.
Salford City UNISON donated £200 towards their travel costs and Branch Secretary Steve North met with the residents and Salford & Eccles MP, Rebecca Long Bailey.
“Within weeks of the tragic Grenfell Tower fire, we organised a public meeting to give residents an opportunity to share their fears and demand action. More than 12 months on, they are still demanding action and we are of course prepared to lend our support to their voice.” Steve North
