In the consultation on the NJC Local Government Pay offer of 2.75%, which finished on 11th August 2020, our branch results were as follows:
Voter turnout: 51.2%
Votes to accept the pay offer – 15.3%
Votes to reject the pay offer – 84.7%
Our results have been shared with the North West region and they will be factored in to results from elsewhere, in order for the union to take a decision on where we go next.
As our pay awards are determined nationally, we are affected by what happens elsewhere, but regardless of matters beyond of our control, we can be proud that we beat the legal ballot threshold and have sent a resounding message that our branch is organised and demands a fairer offer than 2.75%.
We will keep members updated with developments.
